Next N-STEPS Webcast: Development of a Nutrient Biotic Index for Nutrient Criteria

How can biological responses be incorporated into the development of nutrient criteria? AJ Smith of the New York State Department of Conservation will discuss how they developed a Nutrient Biotic Index (NBI) for use in wadeable streams, and how they are applying it towards the development of nutrient criteria for large rivers. Tom Belton of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Conservation will describe how they are also using an NBI to establish eutrophic stream classifications.
