A second edition of a popular publication called Fundamentals of Urban Runoff Management: Technical and Institutional Issues was recently published by the North American Lake Management Society(NALMS). This is a must-read document for anyone working with stormwater and is available at no cost on NALMS Web site. This document revises an earlier 1994 edition and was prepared with support from EPAs Office of Wastewater Management and the Nonpoint Source Control Branch in EPAs Office of Wetlands, Oceans and Watersheds. The five authors of this new document have many years of experience in the field and include four of the original authors of the earlier edition. The authors sought to update the original document because of the tremendous amount of new information available as well as the significant shift in stormwater program direction from the historic mitigation-based approachto a more source-based approach. Copies of the document are posted in pdf format at: http://www.nalms.org/.
